During the year 1966, Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries. At that time, he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift which functioned on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" that was utilized to lower and raise the hoist. This mechanism greatly impressed customers and hence, the name was established.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into different new markets, as the need for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, as the requirements for new machines to meet many applications grew, the company made itself known in numerous new markets. Like for example, Genie went into production with telehandlers, stick booms, man-lifts, articulated booms and light towers.
Genie decided to obtain a partner who held the same values because of the economic downturn during the start of the 2000s, when they partnered together with Terex. This company has a history obtaining equipment manufacturers throughout the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the first few years following the sale. Hence, all Genie machinery continue to be marketed under the Genie brand name.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their customers. Genie has always been continually dedicated to improving the efficiency and quality in addition to minimizing wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on offering outstanding support. These are the very work practices that have made Genie a trusted brand name over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machines.
Genie's DC and Bi-Energy machines are emission-free, quiet machinery capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the equipment should be driven significant distances, such as within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits of a 48V DC equipment with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach, as opposed to any of the different aerial platforms. These equipment are great for small areas or limited access areas in all kinds of settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to provide utmost productivity. These machines provide the drive speed and supreme traction you require to be able to travel around the work site and job area.
