Use a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also known as pump trucks or pallet trucks, they are utilized in order to move materials and things around on wooden pallets using metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight contains a pump that raises the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is designed to be operated by a single person.
To be able to avoid loosing control while lifting heavy loads, pallet trucks must always be operated carefully. Equipment must be inspected before operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Check that the handle turns smoothly. The pallet must be stacked carefully to be able to guarantee that nothing will fall off during transportation.
On the end of the pallet truck's handle, squeeze the level situated on the inside of the metal loop to be able to lower the forks and release the air in the pump. The forks can then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks should be in the middle to ensure equal distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Lift the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not lift the pallet too high or the forklift can unbalance.
Pull on the handle and drag it behind you if you want to move the pallet. It is dangerous to push the pallet ahead of you as the momentum can cause it to lose control. Slowly take turns and don't try to stop abruptly. Slowly stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Finally, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent place.
