Forklift Tire Specs
Forklifts have been an essential tool in commercial businesses and industry ever since the year 1917. Throughout its history the forklift has evolved through various kinds, from a tractor with a platform attachment to a particular high-tech machine. Forklift tires have also changed into specialized tires, with different kinds designed to meet particular applications.
Cushion (Solid) Tires
Solid polyurethane or rubber are the types of materials utilized to construct cushion tires. They are suitable for indoor work on surfaces that are smooth. The cushion tire tread is pressed or binded onto the tire's steel ring. Cushion tires are rated ease of steering and for different load capacities. Cushion tires are commonly used in warehouse settings.
Pneumatic Tires
Pneumatic forklift tires are filled with air or foam. They are available in two kinds: radial or bias. Depending upon the application, they are available with different sidewall protection, tread depths and weight. Foam-filled pneumatic forklift tires are less susceptible to punctures and maintain constant pressures. Pneumatic tires are usually used outdoors on surfaces that are uneven and rough.
Pneumatic Shaped Solid/Solid Pneumatic
Solid Pneumatic Hybrid tires combine the comfortable ride of a pneumatic tire with the puncture resistance of a solid tire. They are a good alternative to the outdoor pneumatic tire.
Large Rubber and Flotation Tires
Used on wheel loader forklifts are big rubber tires which can either be pneumatic, solid or foam. These kinds of tires are suitable for moving and loading bulk things into processing equipment or onto trucks. Large flotation pneumatic tires are best for masted rough terrain forklifts usually used at lumberyards, construction sites and auto recyclers.
