Due to the way they specifically work, hydraulic truck cranes are different from other crane types. As opposed to using a winch in order to wind up cables to provide the lifting force, hydraulic cranes use oil instead. Since oil is a kind of fluid that retains its volume, it is incompressible. Therefore, this means it is one of the most ideal types of fluids for pushing pistons towards the direction the force is going to be exerted.
The hydraulic pump generates a pressure that moves the piston. This particular action is maneuvered by the driver using the controls within his cab. Usually, hydraulic truck cranes use a pump that has 2 gears.
The truck mounted crane could move from one site to another with little need for dismantling. The truck crane has one engine which can control both the crane and the truck.
