In order to be a successful unit, a forklift has to be strong enough to last in all working conditions for many hours of use. It must be able to transport loads efficiently and quickly as well. The machine must be both comfortable and ergonomically correct for the operator as well.
Yale's powertrain is both rugged and dependable. The powertrain requires the power to always offer great strength through its computer-managed engine and transmission. It provides state-of-the-art clutch packs along with robust gears and really tough shafts. The transmission, engine, drive and steer axle are all isolated to be able to reduce both noise and vibration inside of the operator's compartment.
Mazda and GM LP & Gas Engines:
The GM Gas and Mazda LP Engines are made from cast-iron blocks for long life. These types of machines provide an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system that needs minimal adjustment or repair. These kinds of engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats that lessen wear.
Yanmar and Cummins Diesel Engines:
Both the Cummins and Yanmar diesel engine offer a higher compression ratio leading to enhanced torque. Incredible fuel consumption is offered by effective fuel systems.
Regular Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on the majority of machines. It features gears that are 15% stronger and shafts which provide resistance when driving on rough environment. The strong clutch packs offer 3 times the life of previous packs. Lastly, there is electronic inching available that adjusts automatically so as to reduce maintenance requirements by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
The Techtronix Transmission utilizes computer-controlled power reversal to increase durability, extend the life of the tires and to eliminate shock loading. In addition, the auto deceleration feature lessens break pedal usage and break wear.
Drive Axle:
The Drive Axle is designed for extra durability with its full floating, brake drum mounting axle shaft and the pinion gears and strong ring. This specific component also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes which are completely sealed against contamination and basically maintenance free.
Steer Axle:
In order to protect the steer cylinder for damage and debris, the Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design. This Steer Axle also has a fixed-length tie rods which can add more stability and durability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist side-to-side and front to back forces. Additionally, cast ductile iron axle lessens wear and increases toughness.
As part of Yale's standard packages, they have included numerous ergonomic features and safety features. These equipment would handle tough environments, while keeping the operator comfortable and safe for the length of their shift.
