Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Walkie or Rider is a Motorized Pallet Truck which is basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
Just as the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit while they move loads. The Rider model however, uses a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are really maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to pick up and move unstable or tall loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider might be the perfect answer if you are looking for a cheap method for moving cargo from point A to point B. If though, you must move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the best choice.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is specially designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the load and the operator in an effort to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Typically, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle which can function in smaller aisles. They are very useful pieces of machinery during cycle counting situations as well as in physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
