The Carriage
Like conventional lift trucks, the lifting attachment can be tilted from its horizontal position to forwards and backwards. The actual amount of tilt possible totally exceeds that of vertical mast lift trucks. There are different kinds of available lifting attachments, and this ability to position makes them as efficient as possible.
Nearly all telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position which is actually parallel to the ground. Some units have rotating carriages as well. This allows the operator to radially adjust the lifting attachment. This translates to the load being able of being tilted backwards and forwards, as well as side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity quite similar to that of the vertical mast unit. The unit's overall capacity will be dependent on things like: boom angle and extension, whether the unit is lifting on outriggers or on rubber tires, and the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable. Also, which lifting attachment plays an main role, as does the wind, the grade the machine is operating on et cetera. All of these specifics could be changing regularly and this gives the operator much more information to take into account.
Most of the time, telehandlers have some load charts available in order for the operator to reference so they can determine the load capacity of a particular lift. Depending upon the model in particular and the configuration of the boom, the load capacity may vary by thousands of pounds all together.
